Frontier Developments’ Elite: Dangerous has passed its Kickstarter goal of £1.25 million and with almost two days still to go has it sights firmly set on new stretch goals.

Much like 22cans’ GODUS, the Elite comeback looked unlikely to secure its desired funding but a late surge of around £100,000 yesterday ensured another UK project will go ahead.

However, unless giving remains high stretch goals seem unlikely to be met. At £1.4 million Frontier promises to release a Mac version within three months of the initial Windows launch, and at £1.5 million 10 additional playable ships will be included in the game.

The total currently stands at £1,279,663 with 39 hours to go.

Frontier plans to release the game in March 2014.
