Lord of the Rings star Elijah Wood will play the role of lead character Shay in Double Fine’s Kickstarter project Broken Age.

The news was announced during this evening’s VGX awards, along with confirmation that the first episode would release in January 2014.
Wood is the second major voice actor to be announced for the game, alongside Brutal Legend lead Jack Black.
Broken Age was the first major title to be funded on Kickstarter, securing almost $3.5m from backers.
