Elgato has announced the Game Capture HD60, its next-generation capture device that lets players record gameplay footage at full 1080p/60fps.

Due for release this August, the Game Capture HD60 is the first capture device from the company to offer full 1080p capture at 60fps. The firm’s previous hardware limited 1080p recordings to 30fps.

As well as bumping up the frame rate, the Game Capture HD60 will also ship with Elgato’s Flashback Recording software, allowing users to turn back time and retroactively record any clips they may have missed, and includes built-in live streaming with support for Twitch, YouTube and Ustream.

You can even live stream and capture at full 1080p simultaneously, while the new ‘Stream Command’ functionality lets you easily add a webcam and any additional overlays.

The device is fully compatible with Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U, and will presumably work with Xbox 360 and PS3, too.

Expect the Elgato Game Capture HD60 to cost around £139.59 when it goes on sale later this month.
