Despite receiving outstanding reviews across the board, and bringing home plenty of bacon for Take-Two, Oblivion did launch with a few minor problems. PC gamers can now fix most of these with a new patch that brings the game up to version 1.1.
The patch fixes a whole host of bugs, gameplay issues, and problems with plug-ins. One of the more notable fixes is that of the duping bug, which allowed gamers to produce unlimited quantities of gold and other items. Whilst obviously a bug, and as such not something that was intended to be possible, many gamers have come to rely on the exploit to progress through the game. Obviously if you don’t wish to have your magical duping abilities removed, then you have the option of not installing the update. Whether or not Xbox 360 owners will have the same option isn’t known.
You can view a full list of updates and download the patch over at the game’s official website.
