Elden Ring Nightreign has been fantastic since launch, and it has only gotten better thanks to the release of additional content and improvements through continuous updates. As part of their latest financial results, Bandai Namco has revealed a major milestone reached by Elden Ring Nightreign while also outlining the publisher’s plans for strategic collaborations with Sony.

Elden Ring Nightreign reaches major milestone

Bandai Namco has shared their recent financial results posted August 2025 as spotted by Gamesradar. In the presentation, it’s noted that Elden Ring Nightreign has shipped “over five million units”.

It’s noted that “console title Elden Ring Nightreign performed well”. The presentation also mentions that “new titles” sold 4.62 million units, meanwhile, “Repeat titles” sold 6.13 million units. This emphasises just how well Elden Ring’s multiplayer adaptation performed for Bandai Namco.

Over on Steam for PC, while Nightreign has dropped from its record 313,593 peak player count at launch, the game is still performing well with a player count over 80K on August 7th.

As of writing, it sits 32nd on Steam’s 100 most-played games. It is just ahead of other beloved experiences such as Palworld, while only slightly behind the likes of Crosshair X, Baldur’s Gate 3, and GTA 5 Enhanced.

Bandai Namco discusses “strategic partnership with Sony”

In addition to the performance of Elden Ring Nightreign and other games, the financial results discuss Bandai’s “strategic partnership with Sony”. This comes in wake of the announcement that Sony acquired a 2.5% stake in Bandai Namco and own 16 million shares. In addition to Bandai Namco, Sony own a majority stake in FromSoftware’s parent company Kadokawa Group, as well as a 14.09% stake in FromSoftware itself.

Bandai Namco’s presentation says they and Sony will be “Carrying out various collaborations by leveraging the strengths of both companies”. Most of it adheres to “anime and other video content, as well as merchandising,” with plans to leverage “Sony’s strengths in areas such as the production and distribution”.

It’s further highlighted that there will be “Joint development and promotion of IP,” along with “Planning and technical collaboration on experiential entertainment”.

Seeing as most of Bandai Namco’s plans with Sony relate to anime, there’s nothing for fans of FromSoftware to worry about. As for what FromSoftware has planned for the future, there is still the scheduled release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on the Nintendo Switch 2, and then there will be the release of the Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods. There was also a leak earlier in July that suggested FromSoftware’s next game is so advanced “we should be able to play it next year”.
