Despite news yesterday that confirmed that Elevation Partners had agreed to purchase Eidos for £71 million, news just in reveals that SCi, a UK games publisher, has offered £76 million for the company. This would make SCi a considerable force, not only in the UK, but on a word-wide scale.

The offer from SCi values each Eidos share at 53.6 pence, higher than the 50 pence per share that was offered by Elevation Partners. It was believed that the board at Eidos had agreed to the bid by Elevation Partners, but the news of the SCi bid has cast doubt over this.

No Eidos officials have made a statement on the matter. We will keep you updated.
