During Sony’s E3 press briefing one of the surprise announcements was the quirky looking puzzle game Echochrome. Due for release during this fiscal year, the game will be released on the PSP and PS3, via a UMD retail release and PSN download respectively.

In development at SCE’s Japan studio, the game has a unique look and premise. With your character having to navigate beams set in white space, in what look like stages created by M.C. Escher, you move the stage around in order to change the way the world looks, creating new paths.

It’s all very complex and looks to be a real brain teaser. Look for more on Echochrome in the coming months.
