A former UI Artist at BioWare Montreal who worked on Mass Effect: Andromeda has posted some early concept art on Artstation (via Eurogamer) that shows off some of the game’s early ideas.
Currently at Eidos Montreal, Eric Bellefeuille and his images show some of the changes made during the game’s five-year development such as apparently being able to choose the focus (military or scientific in the final game) for each of your settlements rather than just Eos, as it is in Mass Effect: Andromeda.
As well as that, Ryder’s room on the Tempest looks to hold a massive Pringles-tube where SAM (Andromeda’s AI) would’ve lived, rather than just on Pathfinder’s desk as a sentient lamp.
The concept image showing the squad also reveals that Narmor Drack’s name was, at one stage, Nakmor Drack, while Vetra Nyx was Vale Nyx. Cora also sported a longer hair-do, and Peebee looks drastically different to her final form in Andromeda.
You can check out all of Bellefeuille’s Mass Effect: Andromeda concept art on his Artstation page and wonder about what Mass Effect: Andromeda would’ve been like had some of these ideas been in the final game.
