EA CEO John Riccitiello has revealed to investors that its Redwood Shores studio is working on a sequel to its 2006 The Godfather video game.

“It’s a game that I think we’ll be talking a lot about this fall,” said Riccitiello at the William Blair & Company’s investor meeting. “You can play this game both at the street level, much like a GTA-style game, but you can also play it top-down, almost like you’re in an RTS, controlling the strategy of the boroughs so you can see what’s going on…”

EA Redwood Shores developed the first title based on The Godfather franchise and did a pretty decent job. The studio is currently working on horror title, Dead Space, which also uses a highly optimised version of The Godfather game engine.
