EA unveils Gothenburg studio

EA has unveiled a new Swedish development studio: EA Gothenburg.

“A new EA studio focused on making a new generation of games on the Frostbite 2 engine,” says the studio in a brief announcement.

The team’s first title was not announced, however. “Game franchise and genre will be revealed after a candidate is under NDA,” says the studio.

Gothenburg is about five hours away from Stockholm, home of Frostbite 2 (and Battlefield 3) developer DICE.

EA’s jobs page currently lists 16 vacancies for the Gothenburg

studio: Creative Director, Art Director, Audio Designer, Audio Director, Build Engineer, Gameplay Designer, Level Artist, Network Engineer, Producer, Senior Producer, Techincal Artist, UI Artist, UI Engineer, UI Lead and VFX Artist.

EA is also hosting an event at GDC 2012 to attract interested talent to the new studio.
