EA and the Ludlum Estate are “still discussing” the possibility of a Bourne video game.

Yesterday, Swedish developer Starbreeze announced that publisher EA had cancelled one of the titles in development at the studio. Overnight reports suggested the canned title was in fact a Bourne game.

If true, that would leave the door open to the heavily-rumoured Syndicate game.

However, there is still hope that a video game based on the hugely popular secret agent thriller series may one day see the light of day.

In a statement given to the LA Times, an EA spokeswoman confirmed that there are currently no Ludlum-related games in the works, but added: “EA and the Ludlum Estate are still discussing making a game based on the Bourne franchise.”

So there you have it. We may end up with a new Bourne game and a new Syndicate game after all. One day.
