EA Sports has announced that a demo for its upcoming mixed martial arts video game, EA Sports MMA, will be released on September 28 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

The demo will allow players to jump right into a match via ‘Fight Now’ with two weight classes available: heavyweight and middleweight. Fans can take control of current Strikeforce heavyweight champion, Alistair Overeem, or utilise the brute strength of former professional wrestler, Bobby Lashley. The demo also features two middleweights, Jiu-Jitsu fighters Jake Shields and Jason “Mayhem” Miller.

Matches in the demo are officiated by Big John McCarthy, with fighter introductions by Jimmy Lennon Jr.

By sharing the demo with friends, fans can unlock ‘Classic’ Randy Couture as a playable character in the full version of the game.

EA Sports MMA is scheduled for release October 22 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
