According to the San Jose Mercury News, Electronic Arts have been served with their second lawsuit to do with overtime. A second employee is seeking damages against the publishing giant.
The employee, Leander Hasty, who has worked for EA since June 2003, is said to be seeking “undisclosed back pay, damages and penalties for himself and fellow workers.”
Apparently, EA engineers should be paid overtime as they “do not perform work that is original or creative and have no management responsibilities and are seldom allowed to use their own judgment,” according to Hasty’s lawyers.
A similar case against EA was filed on July 29th 2004, where a number of EA employees attempted to file a class-action suit against EA over unpaid wages.
It is all very complicated, but we will try and keep you updated on developments.
