EA’s Online Pass scheme has so far earned the company between $10 and $15m. That may sound like a big figure, but chief financial officer Eric Brown doesn’t seem too ecstatic about the cash earned thus far.

“The revenues we derive from that haven’t been dramatic,” said Brown at the Citi 2011 Tech Conference, as reported by Gamasutra. “I’d say they’re in the $10-$15 million range since we initiated the program.

On a more cheerful note for EA, Brown pointed out that cash from the Online Pass was “found revenue”, stemming from gamers who previously “consumed bandwidth for free”.

While the Online Pass has its fair share of detractors, EA is now just one of several publishers who use such schemes.

Earlier this week Ubisoft was forced to scrap its Uplay Passport for Driver: San Francisco, following an error with the printing of access codes.
