EA has detailed SSX’s multiplayer features during its gamescom 2011 press conference. The multiplayer is split into two categories: Explore and Global Events. The game will also feature an Autolog-like service named RiderNet.
EA announced that in SSX you’ll be able to upload ghost footage of your runs, allowing your friends to compete against you regardless of whether you’re online or not. EA revealed that Global events can have up to 100,000 riders competing at once, with these events ongoing, so you can jump into whichever challenge you want. You can also customise your own events. Facebook and iPhone integration was also shown off during the presentation, but not detailed.
Finally, EA revealed RiderNet, an Autolog-like service for SSX. Using this service gamers will be able to like drops, get new drops recommended, be guided to friends and have new friends recommended.
SSX is due for release in January for Xbox 360 and PS3.
