EA has revealed the first info on this autumn’s FIFA 09 for Xbox 360 and PS3. The game has been designed and customised to deliver a unique gameplay experience that takes advantage of the systems’ strengths.

“We listened to our consumers to make the changes that they wanted,” said David Rutter, Producer of FIFA 09 on the PlayStation 3 system and Xbox 360. “No other game has over 250 feature changes and additions focused on improving core gameplay. We have an absolutely authentic recreation of the real sport through attention to detail.”

FIFA 09 will feature over 250 additions and enhancements and promises to deliver an authentic football simulation that will enable players to customise the game to suit their style and ability.

The game will sport new animation technology that creates more responsive first-time shooting and passing, faster and more controlled dribbling and improved trapping. New player momentum physics will also enable realistic player collisions, authentic jostling for the ball and more variation in tackling.

EA says that for the first time players will be able to “go inside the game engine” to customise the strategy and positioning of team-mates to decide how the team will play in any given situation.

The previously introduced Be A Pro game mode has also been expanded to a career mode called Be A Pro: Season. Here players will be able to create a professional player and then develop the skills at a single outfield position over four seasons, with the ultimate goal to become a national legend.

EA also notes that the match day experience is now even more true-to-life with a referee and linesmen on the pitch, plus improved crowds, stadium atmosphere and commentary.

FIFA 09 is scheduled for release this autumn for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS3, PSP and DS.
