EA Canada is developing a "action-packed story-driven console experience within an exciting new and unannounced franchise", a new job listing has revealed.
Posted on EA's careers website, the job ad reveals that the Burnaby-based studio is building an "completely new IP" based around "action combat and multiplayer gaming".
"This is a major opportunity to lead the gameplay of an exciting new intellectual property that will entertain millions of people around the world," reads the description.
"We are looking for an experienced Lead Gameplay Designer who can bring a deep knowledge of action combat design and multiplayer gaming to the EA Studio in Burnaby."
A "proven track record of designing and balancing combat, player controls, and AI for AAA shooters or action games," is also required, as well as a "deep knowledge of the action/shooter game genre".
The job description doesn't give any indication as whether or not the game is a current-generation title.
Could EA Canada be developing a brand new shooter IP? It appears so.
EA Canada is home to both EA Sports and EA Black Box.
The latter team has become synonymous with the Need For Speed brand in recent years but, nonetheless, it does have some experience in developing shooters.
The studio developed PS2 shooter James Bond: Everything or Nothing all the way back in 2004, and the "not bad" WWII PSP/Wii shooter Medal of Honor: Heroes 2.
