Koei Tecmo America has announced that its hack and slash series Dynasty Warriors will be returning with a ninth installment on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in early 2018. As part of this announcement, Koei Tecmo also released  a new trailer showing off Dynasty Warriors 9 in action. It looks utterly outrageous and heaps of fun, as you watch the characters smash waves of soldiers into the air with a single attack, and unleash a plethora of combos in another.

Dynasty Warriors 9 delves further into the Three Kingdoms of the Wei, Shu and Wu following the end of the Han dynasty. The gameplay trailer showcases the characters traversing a range of environments and weather conditions, swimming across lakes and attacking from rooftops. The trailer also puts the spotlight on the new State Combo system which gives players a number of attacking options during battles. Flow Attacks also change how a combo will work depending on the height of attack, and distance from a foe resulting in a number of strategic methods to dispatch the enemy.

Dynasty Warriors 9 will be released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2018.
