Koei has today announced that Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 is to be released across Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2009. The Omega Force developed sequel combines the legacy of the Gundam universe and the tactical action game play of the Dynasty Warriors series.

The game will thrust players into battles against legions of enemy Mobile Suits on distant planetary surfaces and in the far reaches of outer space.

“Koei’s next gen assault was spearheaded by Dynasty Warriors: Gundam in 2007 to tremendous effect with it proving to be a huge hit across the globe. With every feature within the game ramped up to the max Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 will be bigger, better and more spectacular in every way,” said Will Curley, sales manager for Koei.

For the first time players will engage in melee battles against colossal enemies such as the Psycho Gundam – a massive Gundam which can quickly reconfigure its body into a titanic mobile fortress which can move with remarkable speed.

The sequel also includes new stories featuring mecha from the latest Gundam anime, plus mecha from Char’s Counter Attack and more. Koei also notes that the game will feature online versus play, although no further details are available at this time.
