Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition will release on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on April 4, Tecmo Koei has announced.

The releases will be joined by the launch of standalone expansion Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends on PlayStation 3, again on April 4.

The next-gen and handheld release tucks in both the original Dynasty Warriors 8 and Xtreme Legends expansion, and includes support for cross-platform saves, meaning those who have already started their adventure on the PS3 original can continue their journey on PS4 or PS Vita.

Xtreme Legends, meanwhile, includes five brand new characters, a new Ultimate difficulty level, and additional episodes that continue the story of Lu Bu. Multiple ‘hypothetical scenarios’ are also included that alter the plotlines of episodes throughout the ‘Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ story.

The expansion appears to be skipping a release on Xbox 360, though, despite the original game having already launched on the platform.

Prices for each version have yet to be announced.
