Physical copies of Dying Light will arrive in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East on February 27, 2015, Techland has confirmed.
The revised release date follows news of the boxed versionâs delay this weekend. The North and South American release has not been affected, with physical copies still due to arrive next Tuesday, January 27.
The digital release, however, has also seen a slight setback in Europe on PS4 and Xbox One. Over the weekend, Techland said that the gameâs European digital release had been brought forward to January 27. However, itâs now been pushed back 24 hours to January 28.
The digital PC version is still set to launch globally next Tuesday, January 27.
As an âappreciation of your continued supportâ, Techland will also be releasing online multiplayer mode Be The Zombie for free to all players in all territories.
The DLC was previously announced as a retailer exclusive pre-order bonus.
âDear gamers, as you already know, today we detailed our launch timing for Dying Light,â Techland said in a statement provided to VideoGamer.com. âAlthough the changes affect only the release of boxed copies in certain territories, we want to show all of you our appreciation for your continued support. Thus, weâre really happy to announce that âBe the Zombieâ will be available for free to everyone, on all platforms, in all territories.
âWeâll also be giving away extra weapon dockets to everyone who pre-ordered Dying Light and signed up at Dockets.DyingLightGame.com.
âWe want to thank you for your patience and support in this matter and canât wait for you to enjoy playing Dying Light and invading other playersâ game in the âBe the Zombieâ mode.â
The reason for Dying Lightâs European physical delay remains unclear.
UPDATE 27/01: Techland has released a further update stating that the digital Xbox One version now wonât release in the UK until Friday, January 30. A digital PS4 release is still expected on January 28.
âWe have just been abruptly informed that on Xbox One Dying Light will have a digital release of Jan 28 in Australia and New Zealand, January 29th in France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxemburg and January 30th in the UK and other international markets,â tweeted the developer.
âAll digital PlayStation 4 releases are scheduled for January 28th.â
