In a recent interview with Wccftech, Techland’s Chief Technology Officer PaweÅ‚ Rohleder confirmed that Dying Light 2 will be a cross-generation title.

Dying Light 2 is set for an early 2020 launch on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One, which coincidentally aligns with what we know at the moment about the next-generation of hardware. When asked about the possibility of a cross-generational release, Rohleder said yes: ‘the plan since the beginning of production has been to make Dying Light 2 a cross-generation title.’

There aren’t any more details than that, but seeing as there was always ambition for a cross-generation project, it might not be too long after the next consoles’ launch. Rohleder stressed that for this current generation, ‘we want to run at full HD. It’s too early to specify exclusive features for more powerful consoles, but our top priority is a smooth gameplay experience.’

Techland has said that they’ll continue to support the original Dying Light; they’ve got a small team working on original DLC for the first game.
