CCP has hired former Trion World SVP David Reid to take on the role of chief marketing officer for its upcoming console MMO DUST 514.

Reid will also have a helping hand in shaping the publicity strategy for CCP’s other upcoming MMO World of Darkness, VentureBeat reports.

David Reid was previously known for his work as SVP of publishing on Trion’s Rift throughout 2011, where he helped to deliver the “We’re not in Azeroth anymore” campaign which attempted to put it head to head against leading powerhouse World of Warcraft.

Reid has also worked as vice president of marketing for game portal GameTap, and as director of the Xbox global platform marketing for Microsoft.

DUST 514 is a PS3 exclusive that is set to interact with the studio’s long-running PC title EVE Online, allowing users to fight ground battles on planets in the EVE universe. It is said to include cross-platform chat between both titles.

Closed beta sign ups for the MMO are currently live.
