Capcom has announced DuckTales Remastered, an HD remake of the 1989 NES platformer heading to Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and the Wii U eShop this summer.

Developed by WayForward Technologies, DuckTales Remastered follows Scrooge McDuck through a series of side-scrolling environments and features “luscious hand-drawn” sprites set aback 3D backgrounds.

As well as improved visuals, the HD update includes “new controls, additional areas [and] a Duckburg museum to track your progress”, and features remastered versions of the original game’s 8-bit music tracks. You can even swim in Scrooge’s money bin.

The original NES release is fondly remembered by fans for its excellent platforming and soundtrack which, judging by the trailer, Capcom hasn’t forgotten.

Give it a watch. I guarantee you’ll be singing along by the time it comes to an end.
