Nintendo has confirmed to MCV that the trade price of its Nintendo DSi handheld console will be lowered on June 18. The news follows official word from Nintendo Japan of cuts to its entire DS range.
“In the UK Nintendo will be reducing the trade price of Nintendo DSi to retailers from June 18, 2010,” a statement from the platform holder read. “The ultimate price to consumers is, of course, determined by the retailers.”
If the reduction is a mirror of that seen in Japan, consumers could be in line for a £20-£30 price drop on the DSi.
Those hoping to pick up a cheaper DS Lite or DSi XL are, however, out of luck. Nintendo confirmed that the reduction applies to the DSi only.
