DriveClub’s single-player mode will be playable to the public for the first time at this weekend’s Scottish Car Show, it’s been revealed.

In partnership with video games website Big Red Barrel, attendees will be given the chance to try out the racer months ahead of its launch this October.

Other racing games, indie titles and a retro games section will also be on hand at the show, which takes place at Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre this Sunday, July 20.

“Big Red Barrel is extremely excited to be returning to the Scottish Car Show with Faster Than Life,” said Tim Hibbs, owner and events manager of BigRedBarrel.com. “We’re really proud to be working with Sony Computer Entertainment  again and we can’t wait for people to get their hands on the incredible DriveClub on PlayStation 4.”

UPDATE: It’s been pointed out to us that DriveClub was previously playable at last year’s GamesCom. Instead, the Scottish Car Show marks the first time the single-player mode has been publicly playable. The story has been amended accordingly.
