Owners of DriveClub’s PS Plus Edition, the free content-limited version available to PS Plus subscribers, will also receive access to free tracks and the game’s upcoming weather update, game director Paul Rustchynsky has confirmed.
New cars, however, will only be available to those who upgrade to the full version.
Confirmation follows the studio’s announcement yesterday that DriveClub is to receive a range of free and premium DLC shortly after next month’s launch, including new cars, tracks and events.
“PlayStation Plus Edition owners will be able to get free tracks for India (the featured location) and exciting new game features such as weather,” Rustchynsky said on PlayStation Blog, “but to access new cars you have to upgrade to the full game”.
The PS Plus Edition is expected to release alongside the full version on October 10, and will initially offer access to 11 tracks across India, 10 cars and all game modes.
From there players can upgrade to the full digital version for £42.99, gaining access to all 5 locations, 55 tracks, 50 cars and 50 Tour events.
And guess what? There’ll be no more delays for DriveClub. It was revealed last night that the racer had finally gone gold ahead of its release next month.
