PlayStation 4 exclusive racer DriveClub proved that you don’t need a game to work for it to sell, topping the PlayStation Store’s PS4 chart in Europe for October.

Priced £50 for non-PlayStation Plus members, you’d assume buyers would go the retail route where better deals were to be had. However, the £35 PS Plus price made the digital version extremely tempting, with many gamers likely having pre-purchased the game before its server issues became apparent.

Now the game’s many issues are known it will be interesting to see how November’s sales are affected.

Also new to the chart was Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor in second place, kicking Minecraft down into third. Bethesda’s The Evil Within claims sixth spot, Alien: Isolation debuts at No.15 and Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition just makes the Top 20 at No.18.

Elsewhere, Minecraft jumped straight to the top of the PS Vita chart and remained top of the PS3 list.
