Don Bluth and Gary Goldman’s dream to bring back Dragon’s Lair as an animated motion picture is now one step closer after the pair’s IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign reached its $250,000 target.

“WE MADE OUR GOAL!!!!!! DRAGON’S LAIR IS BACK!!!! We wanted to thank EVERY ONE of you out there for ALL your continued support. We couldn’t have done this without you. Stay tooned for stretch goals, new perks, new contests, new EVERYTHING!!” wrote Don and Gary.

The pair posted a video in celebration.

The money will be used to create a four minute video pitch, including a full minute of classical animation in full colour. This will be created over a 21 week work schedule by a small team of script writers and artist, under the supervision of Don and Gary.

The video will be used to “encourage investors to provide financing of our budgeted 70 million dollars for us to produce Dragon’s Lair : The Movie.”
