Digital Leisure has announced the development of Dragon’s Lair for Nintendo DS. The game sees players take on the role of a valiant knight on a quest to rescue the fair princess from the clutches of an evil dragon.

Dragon’s Lair isn’t your typical adventure game, with gameplay comprising of a series of screens which require the player to input the correct command to progress to the next screen. Think of it as interactive cartoon.

The DS version will maintain the original gameplay, but also include a number of unique features such as touch screen, voice recognition and Rumble Pack support.

The game will also be presented in two ways, either on a single screen or with the DS held in a book style and the action shown across the two screens.

Players will also have the option to play the Home or Arcade version – the Home version containing additional sequences that were not in the original arcade game. There’ll also be a host of ways to help players out, be it through altering the difficulty, turning on a visual move guide or watching the game play out without user interaction.

At this time no release date has been announced.
