Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be released in 2013, Capcom has announced.

Capcom bills the title as a “major expansion to the Dragon’s Dogma universe”, but it’s still unclear whether the product is a full-on sequel or an expansion to the original game.

But before Dark Arisen arrives next year, Capcom will add two new games modes to the original game: ‘Speedrun’ (in which players are challenged to complete the game as quickly as possible) and ‘Hard mode’ (with tougher enemies but better equipment) are both due before the end of 2012.

Each game mode will be available for free.

More information on Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is promised to arrive “in the near future”.
