A Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot gameplay demo shown at Gamescom shows off a battle between Super Saiyan 2 Gohan and Cell, including a few of their special attacks.
Though slightly slower than previous Dragon Ball Z installments, there is complexity for players to contend with. The UI displays the control scheme as a handy hint, and there is now an aim assist for fights. Super Saiyan 2 Gohan has access to his Rapid Fire Ki Wave, Guided Masenko, Dragon Hammer Fist, and Kamehameha Wave super moves.
Cell doles out hits with Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon and Kamehameha Wave, as well as his duplicating ability. Once the fight is over, an especially swish cinematic plays showing the end of the Cell saga. This saga plus the Saiyan saga and Frieza saga are confirmed to be a part of the game, but we can safely assume that the other Dragon Ball Z sagas will make an appearance too.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2020. Watch the demo footage below.
