BioWare has released the first in-game screenshot of Dragon Age: Inquisition, the third title in the fantasy RPG series due for release next year.

The screenshot, pictured above, was featured in a blog post by BioWare programmer Matt Komsthoeft, who says that the developer is “trailblazing with an engine that has never been used to make an RPG before”.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is being developed using Frostbite 3, the next-gen engine used to power upcoming titles Battlefield 4, Need For Speed and an unannounced Mass Effect game.

The title is due for release on current and next-generation consoles and PC in Q3 2014.
