Speaking to US newspaper The New York Times, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said the DS will in the future be more tightly integrated with the Wii.

We’ve no word, however, on whether he means full DS games or perhaps full GBA/Game Boy games will be transferable between Nintendo’s hand held and the Wii.

Professor Layton and the Curious Village, a puzzle game which has yet to be confirmed for European release, will have downloadable content in the form of new puzzles made available.

Reggie told the New York Times: “To aggressively drive DS business we need to provide other forms of entertainment to excite the consumer.”

We can only wonder at what “other forms of entertainment” means.
