Double Fine has trademarked “The Cave”, leading to speculation that this may be the title of the studio’s mysterious Kickstarter project.
The US filing, spotted by Siliconera, only went through on February 22.
Double Fine’s Kickstarter drive has raised $2.29m so far – almost six times as much as the original $400,000 target.
While it would be foolish to rule anything out, it would be equally silly to leap to conclusions. Double Fine is yet to reveal anything concrete about the plot or setting of their new point-and-click outing, and as Tim Schafer mentioned recently, the studio has plenty of other projects on the boil.
