Sniper Elite V2 developer Rebellion has warned fans not to pick up a copy of the game this week, ahead of what appears to be a major announcement linked to the 2012 shooter.
“We’d advise against buying Sniper Elite V2 on Steam in the next few days,” the developer said, “but we WOULD advise scoping out potential snipers to play with … news soon.”
Rebellion says that the tease is linked to a “‘significant’ announcement for their award-winning Sniper Elite franchise” that promises “to extend the reach of the series to a new audience”.
The news isn’t related to this month’s launch of Sniper Elite 3, however.
So could V2 be heading to next-gen consoles or mobile, or could it be due for a significant discount? We’ll find out later this week.
