Bandai Namco Games has announced that role-playing game sequel Divinity: Original Sin 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer.

Developed by Larian Studios, Divinity: Original Sin 2 takes place in a sprawling sandbox where players are encouraged to bend the rules and improvisation and experimentation are the order of the day. The open-world allows you to have a natter with anyone you like (living or dead, apparently) and get to grips with six full-fledged characters, each one boasting their own unique personalities and backstories.

‘This is an incredible opportunity for us to work with Larian Studios who has already shown its talented work through the previous games,’ said Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe’s Vice President of Marketing & Digital Hervé Hoerdt. ‘We are extremely pleased to bring this outstanding title to our lineup by offering new epic adventures to console gamers with the deepest RPG worlds ever created.’

The console release of Divinity: Original Sin 2 will feature a user interface that’s ‘tailored’ for both four-player online cooperative play and two-player local co-op. Players can also expect extra features and additional content updates to be revealed closer to launch day.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is due for release on PS4 and Xbox One in August 2018.Â
