Square Enix has announced that the Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT open beta has gone live on PS4, allowing gamers test out the team-focused scrapper on Sony's home console ahead of its full launch later this month.

The teaser allows PS4 owners to get a taste of Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT's online and offline battles, which feature numerous stages plucked from the venerable JRPG franchise plus various character customisation options. The best part? You won't need a PlayStation Plus membership to access it.

Square Enix confirmed that you'll be able to dip your toes in the open beta across three phases, the first of which is live now and runs until January 15 at 9.00pm GMT. The next session will kick off on January 15 at 10.00pm GMT and runs until January 18 at 9.00pm GMT.

The final phase of the open beta will commence on January 18 at 10.00pm and wraps up on January 21 at 9.00pm. Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT will be kicking up a fuss on PS4 from January 30, and will receive a pricey Collector's Edition if you're interested.
