Dispatch has emerged as one of the best games of 2025 just as the year comes to an end, and its player count has impressively doubled to a 24-hour peak concurrent of over 130,000 following extremely positive word of mouth.
To put into perspective how much the player count has soared, Episodes 1 and 2 released on October 22nd with a player count of just 12,707. Episodes 3 and 4 came out on October 29th seeing an increase of 65,999, and the latest episodes, 5 and 6, released on November 5th, seeing a 24-hour peak concurrent of 131,074. Obviously, this player count is for Steam alone, so it doesn’t reflect PS5.

This player count is extremely impressive, and it’s likely to be broken with the release of Episodes 7 and 8 on November 12th. This is when Dispatch will be fully complete with all episodes out, so we expect more gamers to hop aboard the bandwagon.
Even though it was announced at The Game Awards 2024, Dispatch feels like it has come out of nowhere and taken everyone by surprise. It has a near-perfect 9.5 rating on the PSN store making it one of the best rated PS5 games period, and it also has a very positive aggregate on Steam with “94% of 16,484 user reviews positive”.
Gamers are clearly loving the experience, and this has helped Dispatch incredibly sell over 1 million copies in just 10 days. Its release was too late for the Golden Joystick Awards, but Dispatch should be in contention for nominations at Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards in December.
