Long-awaited PC loot-em-up Diablo III will be released between April and June this year, Activision Blizzard has confirmed.

Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime announced the release window during an Activision investor call yesterday.

“We can also confirm that we are targeting a Q2 launch for Diablo 3,” said Morhaime. “We expect to announce more details about the release schedule in the coming weeks.”

Activision Blizzard CFO Thomas Tippl also stated that “at least” two Blizzard games will be released in 2012. He didn’t feel like saying what they were, however.

Just what have Blizzard got in the pipe? World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria and StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm.

Yesterday Blizzard also confirmed that, despite earlier reports, Diablo III will have in-game chat after all.

BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka once beat Mike Morhaime in a celebrity poker tournament. True story.
