Blizzard has announced that the beta for Diablo III will close on May 1.

All current beta accounts and their associated characters will be reset, while the game’s official forums will remain locked to everyone except those of you who have pre-purchase the game – or if you have a license for World of Warcraft or StarCraft II on Battle.net.

“We’d like to thank everyone who has participated in the Diablo 3 beta,” reads the official notice.

“You’ve done an admirable job of testing, and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback you provided during this critical phase of development.”

Diablo III will be released for PC and Mac on May 15.
