Diablo 4 is a hugely popular game and given the number of players that populate a server and the fact players are incentivised to group up to take on Lilith and her forces, it’s odd to see that a lot of players are claiming the game is missing a huge social element.

A number of players have noted in the last few days that despite the game having a load of multiplayer content the game still feels “super lonely.” One player noted that they “remember they seemed to market this game like it had lots of online multiplayer aspects but in reality, it all feels like a tease.” Like many players, user Thac0 said that there’s rarely any meaningful interaction with other players in the game’s open world. They said, “At most, I see some people standing in town or maybe one other person shows up to an open world event. But there’s no way to meaningfully interact or communicate besides doing an emote or something.”

Jokingly, some players have been noting Blizzard’s continuous messages to let them know they have crossplay enabled as “may encounter players on other platforms.” However, this doesn’t seem to translate into any great co-op experiences for one level 85 player who claims, “I have yet to group with a single player despite wanting to. No one types in the chats. There’s no group finder. No guild finder.”

Other players note that the most social interaction they get on Diablo 4 is simply emoting ‘Hello’ to other players. However, outside of this, there seems to be very little community interaction in-game. Of course, this is excluding the time Diablo 4 players started a queue in town but that’s hardly the pinnacle of social interaction, at least for players outside of the UK.

In other Diablo 4 news, Diablo 4 players are begging Blizzard for this simple skill QOL change and Diablo 4 fans say doing this strange task leads to better loot.
