Allowing Wii U and PC players to compete against each other in Devil’s Third’s online multiplayer would be “nonsense” because of the two platforms’ different control methods, creator Tomonobu Itagaki has said.
Answering questions on his Facebook page, Itagaki explained that “the online versus play is not compatible between Wii U and PCs. ‘Cuz I think you know that’s nonsense. If control devices differs, then it’s not fair.”
Valhalla Game Studios announced yesterday that it would be working with additional publishers to bring Devil’s Third Online, a standalone free-to-play version of Devil’s Third’s online multiplayer, to PC following the Wii U version’s release next month.
The game’s single-player campaign will remain exclusive to Wii U.
Last week, Itagaki advised that Wii U players use a Pro Controller to play Devil’s Third, citing issues with the regular GamePad’s design and weight.
Devil’s Third launches on Wii U on August 28, with Devil’s Third Online set to follow on PC in September.
