Devil’s Third’s multiplayer mode is coming to PC this September as a standalone free-to-play game, Valhalla Game Studios has announced.

Devil’s Third Online will launch following the Wii U release next month, although the exact differences between the two have yet to be detailed. The game’s single-player campaign will remain exclusive to Wii U.

Devil’s Third’s multiplayer mode is said to blend “clan-based action” with resource management and strategy, with creator Tomonobu Itagaki claiming that it “demolishes the standard” set by other online shooters. The Wii U version is limited to 16-players and does not support voice chat.

The PC version, meanwhile, is due to launch in “various regions around the world” and will be co-developed by local publishers. A UK release has yet to be confirmed.

Despite its plans for PC, however, the Wii U version of Devil’s Third is still being brought to the US by Nintendo of America, with a release scheduled for calendar Q4. The game is expected to release in the US prior to the launch of the PC version.

Earlier this week, Itagaki blamed negative previews of the single-player campaign on the ability of its critics, claiming that the game directly “reflects the player’s skill”.
