Tomonobu Itagaki built up a considerable fan following during his time heading-up Team Ninja, but fans hoping to get their hands on his first title since parting ways with Tecmo Koei are in for a substantial wait.
According to Itagaki, multiplatform action title Devil’s Third – to be released by publisher THQ – won’t hit stores until early 2013. THQ had previously said the game will arrive in its fiscal year beginning April 1, 2012, giving hope for a calendar year 2012 launch.
The game is said to be around 20 to 30 per cent complete.
Given the game is several years off, there’s also the chance we’ll see it on more than the Xbox 360 and PS3 – Wii U could enter the mix, with Itagaki said to be working with THQ to bring the game to Nintendo’s platform.
