Stylish and ultra violent Japanese action title Devil’s Third is somewhere around the 30 per cent complete mark according to Valhalla Games’ Tomonobu Itagaki. Valhalla released a pre-E3 teaser trailer last week with further details being promised for the Tokyo Game Show.

Speaking to Famitsu, Itagaki – the man behind the Dead or Alive series and the 3D Ninja Gaiden titles – said that the game is still far from completion and that the quality isn’t quite there yet. However, him and his team will be upping the quality from here onwards.

Itagaki’s previous titles have been praised for a degree of innovation in their online components and Devil’s Third looks set to carry on that tradition. Although Itagaki wouldn’t release any fine details, he did affirm that the online component would be a major part of the experience.

We should learn a lot more about this intriguing project when the Tokyo Game Show kicks off in September.
