Deus Ex Euro Limited Augmented Edition revealed

The European pre-order packs for Deus Ex: Human Evolution have been confirmed by Square Enix, offering gamers two options.

First up is the standard edition game, which when pre-ordered also included the Explosive Mission Pack, offering players a new mission with a special cameo appearance from one of the original Deus Ex characters. Pre-ordering will also give players access to the Automatic Unlocking Device, the M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED) and the Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher.

If you fancy going for something more elaborate then the Augmented Edition looks to be the set for you. In addition to the Explosive Mission Pack, the Augmented Edition includes 10,000 extra credits to buy or upgrade weapons, plus a Huntsman Silverback Double-Barrel Shotgun, the SERSR Longsword Whisperhead silenced sniper rifle, the Linebacker G-87 multiple shot grenade launcher, an Automatic Unlocking Device and the M-28 Utility Remote-Detonated Explosive Device (UR-DED).

The set also contains a 40-page art book and an exclusive bonus DVD featuring a 44 minute making of special, game soundtrack, motion-comic (adapted from DC’s official series) plus the E3 trailer and animated storyboard.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be released early in 2011 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

The importance of pre-orders is vital for publishers in order to convince retailers to order stock, so it’s pretty commonplace to see pre-order incentives.

Square Enix has also detailed the Augmented Edition, a collector’s edition by another name, which by recent standards ticks the usual boxes, but doesn’t offer anything special. There’s no remote control car, replica mask or character figurine. Perhaps a third, more costly edition, will be revealed at a later date.
