The Destiny beta will begin “sometime in July”, Bungie confirmed on Twitter overnight.
“You’ll find out exactly when you can play during E3,” Bungie’s tweet added.
Access to the beta is promised to pre-order customers, with PlayStation platforms first to the party.
During Activision Blizzard’s Q1 earnings call last night, Eric Hirshberg, chief executive officer, said of Destiny that “we believe pre-orders for the game remain on a record pace for new IP”.
Destiny launches September 9 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
