With Destiny having been in gamer’s hands for one month as of October 10, Bungie has released some stats to show off just how popular the game has been.

The developer says that the game averages 3.2 million players each day, with the average play time at around 3 hours per day.

The average player loads up Destiny 1.8 times per day, but has only played the game 20.9 times in the month. In the last three weeks more players have been online in Destiny than during the same time span for Halo 3 and Halo: Reach combined, added Bungie.

“We thank you for playing. And, we thank you for the passion and enthusiasm that has made the Destiny community so strong already,” writes Bungie. “It’s been amazing to watch your Guardians become legends. Your reactions and your opinions have helped us to make Destiny better over this past month.

“Pioneering something new is never easy. When we see the raw numbers, it’s easy for us to say that the destination was worth the journey. Stay tuned for the next evolution of our shared adventure.”

3.2 million players per day is a fantastic result for Bungie and Activision, but we’d be very interested to see how much of this player base remains once other heavy hitters such as Call of Duty and Halo arrive in the coming month.
