Destiny 2 players have known about the return of the Thunderlord for a while now, but it's only now that Guardians have been able to take part in a quest to get their hands on the Exotic weapon.

The quest revolves around solving the murder of Master Ives, a Cryptarch seen in the Reef in Destiny 1, which kicked off during the Halloween-themed Festival of the Lost. The multi-part quest has been slowly unlocking over the past few weeks, with the final step now available.

Hopefully you're in the mood for nostalgia, as the final step sees you revisiting somewhere familiar: the Cosmodrome from Destiny's Old Russia.

All you need to do to get started is head to the Tower and visit Amanda Holiday, and it's off to the Cosmodrome to slaughter a bunch of Fallen enemies and tackle a boss, after which you'll back the Thunderlord.

It's a bit different to its previous incarnation though. Thunderlord now features a perk that sees lightning rain down on foes, while holding the trigger down boosts its rate of fire, and finally, killing enemies increases the weapon's reload time.

The good news? You won't need Forsaken to take part in the quest.
